What is Urgent Care?

Urgent Care describes life-threatening injuries that, while not life-threatening, require immediate attention from a trained physician. This includes both physical injuries and sudden illnesses, as our staff is equipped with the medical resources necessary to diagnose and treat a range of afflictions. These include:

Will I need a referral?

No. Seeing as we’re a walk-in clinic dedicated to accommodating the people of Knox County as accessibly as possible, we never require our patients to have a referral.

Will I need to set up an appointment?

No. You can walk into our center any day of the week during our hours and we guarantee you that one of our board-certified physicians will accommodate you.

Can I visit American Family Care for primary care medical services as well?

Yes! While we’re technically classified as an urgent care center, we are more than happy to provide our patients with primary care services too. These services include:

  • Routine Check-Ups (physicals)

    • Sports/Camp Physical
    • Health Exam
